Cr. Christoph Hoffmann

Postdoctoral researcher

Christoph joined the group in October 2023. After studying Biology at University of Marburg he finished his PhD in molecular metabolism research at the Technical University of Munich. During his first Postdoc at the Molecular Diabetology Group at the University Hospital Tübingen his fokus slowly switched from labbench to bioinformatics. After finishing his postgraduate studies in Bioinformatics in 2023, he joined the Claassen lab. Christoph is part of the AI & Data Science Fellowship Program, a cooperation of the University of Tübingen and Boehringer Ingelheim. His project is to investigate how spatial metabolome data generated by mass spectrometry imaging can be used to identify biomarkers and link them to physiological conditions. To do so, he uses approaches from both classic statistical machine learning as well as deep learning.
